# Cookie & Similar Technologies Statement

How Autopilot uses cookies, local storage, analytics technologies, authentication technologies, and similar tools.

This Cookie & Similar Technologies Statement describes how Autopilot Limited ("Autopilot", "we", "our", or "us") uses cookies, local storage, session storage, analytics technologies, authentication technologies, and similar tools.

## Scope

This statement applies to Autopilot websites, applications, services, and related online services where these technologies are used.

It should be read with the [Privacy Policy](/legal/privacy), which explains how Autopilot collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information more generally.

## What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that may be stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts, SDKs, analytics technologies, authentication technologies, and device or browser identifiers.

These technologies may be set by Autopilot or by providers that help us provide, secure, support, analyse service usage and performance, and maintain the service.

## How Autopilot uses these technologies

Autopilot may use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes.

### Essential, authentication, and security technologies

These technologies help operate the service, keep users signed in, manage sessions, route requests, protect accounts, support authorised access, prevent misuse, and maintain service security.

They may include authentication and session technologies provided by Autopilot's infrastructure and authentication providers.

### Preferences and product settings

These technologies help remember user choices and product settings, such as theme preference, layout state, recent searches, display preferences, and other settings that make the service easier to use.

Some preferences may be stored locally in a user's browser instead of being stored in Autopilot's database.

### Analytics and diagnostics

Autopilot may use analytics, logging, diagnostics, and performance technologies to understand service usage, page performance, errors, reliability, and product improvement opportunities using operational, diagnostic, service-usage, performance, aggregated, anonymised, or de-identified information where appropriate.

Autopilot does not intentionally use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site advertising technologies.

### Payments and fraud prevention

Where billing, checkout, payment, or subscription features are used, payment providers may use cookies, device information, fraud-prevention signals, or similar technologies to help process payments, prevent fraud, manage disputes, and secure payment activity.

## Providers

Autopilot's selected third-party service providers may use cookies and similar technologies when they provide hosting, analytics, authentication, database, payment, security, support, communications, or related services to Autopilot.

The providers involved may include providers listed on the [Subprocessors](/legal/subprocessors) page where applicable.

These providers process information under their own terms, privacy notices, and contractual commitments where relevant.

## Choices and controls

Users can usually control cookies through their browser settings. Some browsers also allow users to block cookies entirely, although doing so may prevent parts of Autopilot from functioning correctly. Users can also clear local storage, session storage, and site data through their browser.

Blocking or deleting essential cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies may prevent sign-in, account access, preference storage, security checks, or parts of the service from working properly.

## Changes to this statement

Autopilot may update this statement from time to time as services, providers, features, or technologies change. When we update it, we will publish the updated version with a revised "Last updated" date.
